Payam Samarghandi is recognised as one of the country’s leading cryptocurrency regulatory advisors. Payam has specialised in this area since 2016, where he has also gained significant market knowledge and international network. Payam has also worked intensively with commercial transactions, especially venture capital transactions, and since 2020 he has been among the Danish lawyers who have represented the most companies in this area.
Over the years, Payam has gained a deep regulatory knowledge related to cryptocurrency, where Payam has represented market-leading players such as international centralised trading platforms, cryptocurrency providers (VASP), decentralised autonomous organisations (DAO) and other companies operating at the interface between regulatory matters and cryptocurrency. In addition, Payam has extensive experience advising regulated organisations, particularly electronic money issuers (EMI) and payment institutions (PI).

Finally, Payam has extensive experience with tax law issues related to cryptocurrency, where he is the advisor who since 2016 has represented the most clients in cases (+200) against the Danish Tax Agency and conducted the most cases in this area at the Danish Tax Appeals Agency (Skatteankestyrelsen) and the National Tax Tribunal (Landskatteretten).
